Radom, with about 202,000 residents in the southern part of Masovian Voivodeship, is a historic centre of the defence industry (Łucznik, Bumar) and aviation (Air Show Radom), the region's seventh-largest city. Strengths are modest but real: very strong wage growth of 17.43% YoY (94th percentile), full sewage coverage (99.9%, 94th percentile) and 6 museums (80th percentile). Low housing prices of PLN 6,906/m² and an affordability ratio of 0.84 monthly salaries per m² make the market accessible. 119 km of bike paths and 2 Park & Ride lots provide decent infrastructure. Weaknesses run deep, however: very high unemployment of 10.2% (3rd percentile) — among the highest of any powiat-status city — just 1 stadium (8th percentile), almost no lakes and a very modest tourism base (437 tourists per 1,000). Gross wages of PLN 8,269 (96% of the national average) are moderate despite recent raises. Low police effectiveness of 63.7% and only 280 employed persons per 1,000 reveal structural labour-market challenges. Radom offers affordable housing and strong aviation-defence potential, but its main challenge remains activating residents in the labour market.
