Gdańsk, with about 486,000 residents and the capital of Pomeranian Voivodeship, is a historic Baltic port, birthplace of Solidarność and one of Poland's most dynamic economic centres. Its strengths are impressive: the largest housing-construction scale in the country (11.8 dwellings per 1,000, 98th percentile), huge investment outlays of PLN 7.89 billion (97th percentile), 29 museums (97th percentile), 169 accommodation establishments (97th percentile), 9 cinemas (95th percentile) and 3,088 tourists per 1,000 residents (95th percentile) — Gdańsk is the Baltic tourism metropolis. Gross wages of PLN 10,107 (117% of the national average) and unemployment of 3.0% confirm a strong labour market, and 2,053 REGON entities per 10,000 indicate a rich business ecosystem. Weak areas: high housing prices of PLN 12,266/m² (5th percentile) and an affordability ratio of 1.21 (9th percentile) limit homeownership access. High property crime (22.45 per 1,000, 3rd percentile), 4,436 deregistered entities (8th percentile) and only 87.3% wastewater coverage (8th percentile) are improvement zones. Cycling density of 33.4 km per 100 km² (11th percentile) is modest for a modern city. Gdańsk is a dynamic and attractive hub for business and tourists, though still wrestling with housing affordability and property security.

Explainer
Every Polish corporate entity publishes two documents each year in the KRS register: a balance sheet (what it owns and how it financed it) and an income statement (what it earned and spent). Together they hold 60–80 line items, but 5 simple ratios calculated from them are usually enough to judge a company's health in 15 minutes. A practical guide with real numbers from the Polish retail sector.

News

At the current share price of PLN 21,880 the yield is just 1%, reflecting the growth-first strategy of a company controlled by the family of Marek Piechocki. Final dates will be set by the AGM in June 2026.
